Vision and Mission

Vision :

To be a self sufficient and transparent organization to accommodate the unprivileged children through a child sponsorship program.

Mission :

Educate the unprivileged Balinese children to be independent and bring them a better future with their own knowledge, culture and skills.

2003 - 2005

The idea was started then Ketut sadia and a dutch man named Mr. Gill Rijnenberg.
Before met, Ketut already has 2 children that he supports for their school.
Ketut took Gill on a motor bike to some villages in Bali to meet the children and see their homes. and the initiative begin. Gill invited his family and friends to help the Balinese children go to School. By the next year 12 children from Bedulu were being schooled. In 2005 extra English lessons and extracurricular activities were on offer for more children in the village to join.

2006 - 2007

February 2006,the foundation was legalized as Yayasan Widya Guna in Bali and in Holland WINS (Weskinderen Indonesie naar School). WINS Project USA was also at this time to Support Yayasan Widya Guna. In 2007 the child sponsorship program was spearheaded by Gill, with the invaluable work of Maudy peet Maidman and Cherrie Leijer. 100% of the funds going to the children’s accounts. This transparency motivates the children and keeps the sponsor up to date.


Fund raising through the Yoga barn started and this expanded the network of volunteers tremendously. The Yoga invited the Yayasan to do a dance performance together and enough money was raised to start construction on dormitories.


Marked the start of providing education for mentally disabled children and availability of a physiotherapy program for the children with physically challenges followed not long after.


May 2010, Yayasan Widya Guna became a self supporting Organization so that WINS can open its support network throughout Indonesia to help more children get an education.
The Yayasan Widya Guna is in the process of adding a new location to provide more space to do children activities and is becoming a self supporting Organization.
